Tourism is obviously a big part of Montana’s identity. At Yellowstone, we are more than aware of this fact. The Montana Office of Tourism will host a tourism and brand workshop for local businesses in Yellowstone Country. The workshop aims to educate business owners on social media. Businesses will learn tips on how they can attract even more visitors, but more importantly, how to make them come back every year.
Social media is more than just a town crier, it is an entire nation of criers, constantly making public announcements. The outpouring of support over the tragic death of 832F took the blogosphere by storm and effectively demonstrated the strength of social media. It is wise for any one, and not just business owners, to learn the tricks of the media trade. For many people, their first exposure to 832F and the Yellowstone wolves has been through blogs and other sites.
As per the West Yellowstone News, “The workshop will be held at Big Sky Resort in the Summit Talus Room from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24. There is no cost to attend, however for planning purposes, interested participants are requested to pre-register for the workshop. Please RSVP to Julie Walker at MTOT at (406)841-2887 or at http://bit.ly/YCWorkshop.”
